ABSTRACT: Promoting cybersecurity awareness through vocational education programs is crucial for preparing a workforce capable of addressing modern security challenges. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of vocational education programs in enhancing cybersecurity awareness, identify the specific skills and knowledge areas improved, and assess student satisfaction with cybersecurity training. A survey design was selected to gather detailed insights from participants. The sample size comprised 180 students from various vocational programs focused on cybersecurity. Purposive sampling was used to select participants with exposure to cybersecurity education. The case study was conducted at the Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that vocational education significantly increased students' knowledge of cybersecurity threats, improved their skills in implementing security measures, and fostered a proactive approach to cybersecurity. Students reported high levels of satisfaction with the training, highlighting the practical and industry-relevant content. It was recommended that vocational training programs continuously update their cybersecurity curricula to reflect the latest threats and technologies, and provide ongoing professional development for instructors.
